My job is to form bridges, to create a shared experience through storytelling. With the job comes Noise—the noise of people, of misshapen egos and beguiling personalities, of polite lies and half-truths, of subtexts and motives. It’s therefore only natural that Silence is of great value to me.

Whenever I have the chance, I go home to the province in my parents’ house. This is my room in Laguna. The foot of my bed points directly out the balcony. Who cares about Feng Shui when you have sunlight and trees in your eyeline?

A small hill inside a huge cemetery. I used to hang out here and think. Lately I’ve been missing these places.

Some of my screenplays were written right here. I may need to return to this place soon to write. One’s voice tends to get drowned out with all the Noise. I want to hear my own voice again. I want my words to mean something.
